Meet the Practice Owner
Laurie Terzo, DaoM, L.AC., faborm
Welcome to my virtual practice, where holistic medicine is my specialty and empowering woman is my passion. Combining the two is my job.
Drawing upon 20-years of experience in Chinese and functional medicine, I offer a uniquely balanced approach to help women make profound changes and take control of their hormones and fertility.
As a holistic doctor, I partner with my clients to discover the root cause of their body imbalances. Using an inclusive approach I review lab work and results, nutrition, herbal medicine, supplements, and lifestyle changes with all my patients.
People often ask me what all the letters after my name stand for. In essence, it means I am a lifelong learner and am always seeking new ways to help the women I work with.
My healthcare education began with a four-year Master of Science in traditional Chinese medicine program from the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in San Francisco.
After practicing for quite a number of years, I decided to return to school to receive advanced specialty training in women’s health and get my doctorate in Acupuncture and Oriental medicine (DAOM). I then further became board certified in fertility and reproductive medicine with the American Board of Oriental Reproductive (FABORM). Additionally, I am a licensed acupuncturist (L.Ac.).
My advanced training includes:
Board specialty in Reproductive Medicine - ABORM
Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner
Functional Medicine University – 200+ hours of Functional Medicine training in hormones, detoxification, gut health, brain health, etc.
Institute for Functional Medicine Training
Doctorate training in Gynecology & Infertility from Shanghai, China
Integrative Medicine: Specialty of Acupuncture, Orthopedics, Oncology, Gynecology and Internal Medicine from Cheng Du Traditional Medical Hospital, Cheng Du, China
Fertility Enhancement Mentorship, Dr. Angela Wu, San Francisco, California
Functional Endocrinology/Functional Blood Chemistry/Advanced Blood Chemistry/Advanced Thyroid Conditions, Datis Kharrazian, San Francisco, California
My dedication is in working with women’s health and fertility issues which includes menstrual cycle irregularities, poor sleep, mood fluctuations, stress, weight gain, and low libido.
When not working with clients I focus on my other passions – community and family. I volunteer with Portland-based Rahab’s Sisters to offer support to vulnerable women.
I also love being active with my son and spending time with dog. I enjoy yoga, exploring our home in the Pacific Northwest, reading, and imagining I’m a real dancer in my hip hop dance class.
